HMS Monaco
HMS sends greetings to all our customers and friends in the amusement industry during this extremely difficult time. We hope that you, your families, and company staff are healthy and safe during this unprecedented pandemic.
Since HMS is located in Jersey City, NJ, we are one of the epicenters of the Corona Virus outbreak. All non-essential companies were ordered to close three weeks ago to protect the well-being of their employees and families, as well as to flatten the curve of the virus. HMS will reopen as soon as the government gives us permission and it is safe to do so.
This is a very stressful time for all families. My wife, daughter, and I live in New York City, where any sense of normalcy has been interrupted. There is little traffic, either pedestrian or vehicle, on city streets. The public health recommendation is that people shelter in place except to shop for groceries, pharmaceuticals, or to take an occasional walk for exercise—maintaining a social distance of 6 feet. Whenever possible, my wife and I are shopping online and having food and groceries delivered so that we don’t have to go out.
Being at home for extended periods of time offers the opportunity for reflection, perhaps gaining a greater appreciation for what is most valuable in life. My family and friends are most important, now more than ever, and it’s especially hard right now because for the most part I “see” them only through FaceTime or talking on the phone. I know that many of you across the country are feeling the same way, and coping the best you can.
