ANDAMIRO RELEASES CLEANING MEASURES FOR GAME CARDS

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

After multiple inquiries on how to clean Andamiro's Spongebob, Minion, and WWE Cards, Drew Maniscalco released the following:

"We had several inquiries about cleaning and disinfecting the collectible cards used in some of Andamiro’s games. Our game cards are printed on a durable PVC substrate. However, SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19) could remain on PVC – as well as on steel, ceramic, Teflon and glass – for up to five days at 21°C (69.8°F), and on plastic from two to six days at room temperature. So, it’s recommended that operators clean their game cards once weekly (and make it a part of the daily cleaning protocols at the redemption counter).

The 30 mil. thick PVC used for an Andamiro card is a nonporous plastic and, therefore, can be easily disinfected since biological materials cannot enter the plastic itself. Cleaning is simple: use a soft cloth and wash with soap and warm water (or soak multiple cards in the same solution) or use a nonabrasive cleaner. Then spread out to dry (only a few minutes).

You can also wipe with rubbing alcohol (65%+ isopropyl), which will not damage a card’s colorful printed finish. Fact: The COVID-19 virus is wrapped in a layer of fat that will quickly dissolve after it makes contact with a >65% alcohol solution".
